1. Getting rid of cable TV

I hate it when the cable TV is not working.

I hate it when I come home from work, I can’t get to watch TV, because that is my only salvation from the savages of life.

I hate it when I have to call the cable guy, only to be put on hold indefinitely, going through menus of “please press 1 if you are impatient, press 2 if you feel like killing yourself, press 3 if you’re on the edge of jumping off the building…”

After galloping my fingers on the remote control, I feel more in control.

    Suddenly, life is peaceful again.

    When cable TV works.

When it doesn’t work, the stress it creates is overwhelming.

I seem like that irritating impatient child trying to get his candy fix.

With one radical move, I got rid of this daily fix that I needed.

I got rid of cable TV.

Yes, there were some withdrawal symptoms initially, but as it subsides, I have substituted impatient activities with my patient activities, like reading the book, or playing the piano, or go out cycling.

    My health is better.

    My impatience level - lower.
